Public Holidays and Collective Leave 2026

The Indonesian Government has officially designated 17 public holidays and 8 collective leave days for 2026 through a Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB 3 Ministers). With a total of 25 holiday days, next year presents an ideal opportunity to balance work and personal life.

  • January 16 – Isra Mi'raj
  • February 17 – Chinese New Year (Imlek) 2577
  • March 19 – Nyepi (Balinese Day of Silence)
  • March 21–22 – Eid al-Fitr 1447 H
  • April 3 – Good Friday (Death of Jesus Christ)
  • April 5 – Easter
  • May 1 – Labour Day
  • May 14 – Ascension Day of Jesus Christ
  • May 27 – Eid al-Adha
  • May 31 – Vesak Day
  • June 1 – Pancasila Day
  • June 16 – Islamic New Year 1448 H
  • August 17 – Indonesia’s Independence Day
  • August 25 – Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday
  • December 25 – Christmas Day

Total: 17 Public Holidays

 

Collective Leave Days 2026

In addition to public holidays, the government has declared 8 collective leave days:

  • February 16 (Chinese New Year)
  • March 18, 20–24 (Nyepi & Eid al-Fitr period)
  • May 15 (Ascension Day of Jesus Christ)
  • May 28 (Eid al-Adha)
  • December 24 (Christmas)
  •  

Note: Collective leave days are not mandatory for private-sector companies, as implementation depends on each company’s internal policy.

 

Long Weekend Opportunities

Several long weekends to look forward to in 2026:

  • Chinese New Year: February 14–17
  • Nyepi & Eid al-Fitr: March 18–24
  • Ascension Day: May 14–17
  • Christmas: December 24–27
